On December 5, he was elected president of the Montgomery Improvement association. Delivered his most famous speech on the Lincoln Memorial steps “I have a dream”, this touched many young and old blacks searching for freedom. Where later made his famous “I have a dream” speech. On January 3, 1964, Martin Luther King was crowned Time Magazines man of the year. Martin Luther King went through the same harsh incidents as all the other black did; he was arrested during a voting for rights demonstration. In 1963 Martin Luther King was named the American of the decade.
